CELEBRATION OF VERA’S LIFE SERVICE: 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL with Bro. Phil Boyd officiating.  Burial will follow in the Yale Cemetery, Yale, IL.

Vera L. Huddleston, 78, Yale, IL passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL.

Vera was born in Willow Hill, IL on June 26, 1937 and was the daughter of Otto Wilbert Jones and Anna Virginia (Hornbaker) Jones.  On May 21, 1955 she married Bobby Dean Huddleston and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2001.

Vera worked at the Ettlebrick Shoe Factory, Casey, IL; an Avon sales representative for several years; worked at the Yale grocery for three years; was a waitress at the 49er in Yale, IL as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Newton Community High School Class of 1955; member of the Willow Hill United Methodist Church; Grandville Home Extension of Yale, IL for many years.  Vera enjoyed Dot painting, gardening, canning and mowing.  Vera loved being the babysitter for her grandchildren.

Vera is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Kathy Huddleston of Yale, IL and Eddie and Denise Huddleston of Oblong, IL; daughter and son-in-law Connie and Doug Loehr of Saratoga Springs, UT; eight grandchildren Steve Richardson of Casey, IL, Brandy Koenig of Champaign, IL, Lori Guerrettaz of Yale, IL, Nic and Megan Huddleston of Yale, IL, Travis and Britni Huddleston of Willow Hill, IL, Levi and Hilary Huddleston of Oblong, IL; Chelsea Marchand of Melbourne, FL and Amber Loehr of Saratoga Springs UT; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law Don and Peggy Jones of San Diego, CA; several nieces and nephews and loving care givers.

Preceding Vera in death were her parents; husband; two brothers Bob and Wendel Jones and three sisters Ada Mae Moran, Thelma Hickey and Rachel Jones.
